My dear family, friends and colleagues,
Hereby I invite you to attend my inaugural lecture ‘Urban Reflection, on the design of diverse engagement in the networking city of Amsterdam’.
In this lecture I address the new role of design in the increased urban complexity and discuss my research into witnessing and rhythms for social cohesion in de context of urban experience.
In April 2018, the board of the University of Amsterdam has appointed me to fulfil the new chair ‘Designing Urban Experience’.
This professorship by special appointment is part of the position of Chief Science Officer of the municipality of Amsterdam, which I hold since March 2017.
Following the inaugural speech and reception is a working conference on Saturday 17th of November from 10h - 14h in which several people respond to the ideas that I present in the inaugural lecture. This location for is CBK ZUidoost.
